Passion

Late at night when all the world was sleeping I came up and think of my highschool friends. I was from a birthday party in Tiendesitas with my highschool friends. Where all of them kept on drinking and smoking, well that's the trend of the youth today. During the party, of course there were jokes, stories, and trips, while they were drinking and drinking suddenly the Holy Spirit (my teacher) told me "Hey Norman Vincent, its a good time to grab this oppurtunity to invite them again." My ex-small group members were there, I remembered the time while we were still in high school I always invited them every Sunday, and so, I again invited them. With their unpredictable answer, I didn't know if they will make it this Sunday or not, but I just did what the Holy Spirit told me to do. Now back at home while I was reading the book of Acts in the bedroom, I asked God.

Norman: "Lord, gusto ko ulit silang ma-ireach-out may open doors na naman eh, While I was talking to (Highschool Friend A) sabi nia palagi 'basta pag may kasama', c (Highschool Friend B) umoo naman at si (Highschool Friend C), si (Highschool Friend D) naman parang ok lng. Paano kaya un Lord no? Wla qng maisip eh."

Lord: (silent mode)

Norman: "Hello are you there?. Bkt kaya ganun? Everytime they will answer 'Yes' hindi naman sila sumisipot. Eh dati madali naman silang kausap. Hmmm...

Lord: .....

Then I say a little prayer, and hope my dreams would take me there, where the skies are blue to see you once again my love, and over seasons coast to coast to find a place I love you most, where the fields a green to see you once again.

Norman: "Ah. Papa Jesus. Help me to disciple and reach out to my high school friends. I'm asking for the Holy Spirit to be upon me to give me wisdom and knowledge. Lord, please refresh my passion and heart to these young men. Give me a sign, give me practical steps to help them."

After I've done my quiet time with God I went down to wash-up. While washing up. God spoke. At last I heard his still small voice again.

(Pagkabukas ng tubig)
God: "Hey, Norman Vincent. You know what Son. Do you remember the times na you always texted them, chatted them on the fone on ym, remember?. Oh come on, you just need again to fire your 'kulit factor' up, Kulitin mo ulit sila."

(Pagkakuha ng sabon)
Norman: "Aba, oo nga no?."

(Habang naghihilamos)
God: "Eh ngayon, what you are doing is just you invite them tapos hindi mo sila nireremind on the day before or even the day itself. Remember you need to connect with them, be-friend again with them, Wag mo agad silang iinvite agad agad, remember Discipleship is Christ-centered friendship. Bkt hindi mo muna sila kamustahan u know. Actually, hindi mo sila na-follow-up pag nainvite mo. So, un I know you learn son. Remember I gave you the give of Leadership and Evangelism don't waste it."

(Habang nagtutuyo ng tuwalya)
Norman: "Ah.. ya your right, your the best God. Thx, kaya this coming sunday, kakausapin ko na ulit sila."

I was really taught and refreshened by God at that time. No matter what, our friends will be reached out, God is in the business of changing hearts of the people, but the question is "Are we responding to God?", "Are we obeying God when he told us to reach out for this person?", "Are we doing our missions as his warriors and ambassadors?". He is the mastermind, and we just need to do our job as his instruments. Therefore, we as ministers, should always ask God to give us new passion to work for his kingdom, whether in ministry or in discipling people.
