Holy Week 2009
Originally, we planned to spend our Holy week in Baguio from April 8(Wed) to April 11(Sat). Last week, Dad heard a news that my auntie who had a leukemia, have a pneumonia which makes the things worst for her. The Doctor said that there is a tube that should be inject to her in order for her to survive, I don't know what exactly it is. Because of that, Dad went to Batangas on the 8th(Wednesday) up until to the 10th(Friday), due to the past-faced shifting of inevitable circumstances Mom decided to follow Dad together with us on the following day. Mom had to ask uncle J to drive for us using our small car going to Lipa Medical Center where auntie Fran was held, she also asked uncle Joe to be with us, so that uncle J will have a comrade when he go back home.
When we reached the hospital my father brought us to uncle Nuel's house where the entire Sagarbarria clan was there except Ryan, and the grandparents, uncle J and Joe were left in the Hospital. After few minutes chatting in uncle Nuel's crib mom received an urgent call from grandma that made mom and dad to rush in the hospital. Short moments passed, auntie Berna got a call from mom revealing that auntie Fran died. Mixed emotions filled the mansion of uncle Nuel. There were different parties formed, each with assigned task. The siblings of auntie Fran discussed about the funeral and stuffs.
Uncle J and Joe went back home, and I just found myself in my grandparents' palace. I saw auntie Fran's body, visitors and guests, met new acquantances, and played with my younger couzins. That night was the start of the funeral scenario. I was seperated from my family and left in the palace with my some of my couzins, aunts and uncles. Almost the half of Sagarbarria clan left in uncle Nuel's crib, while uncle George and Dad were looking for flowers. Forwarding the story, uncle Raul and his family arrived, I helped auntie Berna in making the auto-biography, and I played cards with Jak Midnight the family-friend helper, uncle Raul, and Ryan starting from 12:30 in the morning of the 10th day of April until 5 am.
I woke up 9 in the morning. My dad brought us (his family) to auntie Berna's crib where we stayed until to the last day. Surprisingly, after taking my bath I saw uncle Bing, Jay and their families, grandma, and ate Christine (Fran's bestfriend) chatting and resting around the living room. Going on, we all went to the funeral, my parents' families greeted each other and chatted for a while, they also met uncle Rommel (the partner of auntie Fran). After playing with my younger cousins on both sides, I took a 2 hour sleep from 3 to 5 in the afternoon. Then all the people who surprise me that day went home at around 6 in the evening. In 1 hour musicians came, together with the Pastors and the church people. The pastor preached, 3 people gave message and testimonial to auntie Fran, the audience sang worship songs while the musicians play, and I together with my couzins happily served the guests with food and drinks. While serving I was able to meet new people who knows my grandparents and my father. After the service, I again spent time with my couzins for a while and my dad brought us (his family) back home to sleep.
On the 11th day of April, after waking up we went to the funeral, made a rush breakfast and proceeded to SM Batangas to buy clothes that day and the following day. That was 1 of my unforgettable shopping moments in my life. In less than 40 minutes my family bought 2 pairs of cloth including both garments (the upper and the lower) one for that day (pambahay)and the other one for the following day "ung libing". That shopping experience was so indescribable, we were so rushed and everybody's grabbing, checking and fitting their chosen clothes. We spent 6k on that single-rush-surprise shopping. Dad's old cousins who were from Manila came to the funeral, that was the reason why we rushed off. Upon arriving at the funeral, dad and his cousings greeted each other and started to talk in the dining hall, while I, Benj and mom were eating. When the hour hand of the clock reached number 3 my patience on waiting started to depreciate. My dad didn't not allow me to join RR's expedition to their house so that I can take my bath, instead he told me to wait because he was still chatting with his cousins. Their chat lasted for about almost 3 hours if i'm not mistaken it ended at the 4th of the afternoon. We started to go back to uncle Berna's crib to take our baths. In the beginning of our journey, the absence of the housekey was revealed, but it was overturned by the knowledge of the presence of RR in the house. Upon arriving, the family predicted that there was no one in the house, I, myself checked the house but not a single voice popped-out, so the head decided to stay their for a while hoping that RR will be there in just a minute of two.
After sometime there was no change in the scene, not until dad received a text from his small group in church that they are now in the road of Cuenca and they didn't know how to get to the funeral. Dad caught them up on the road and they made a conboy going to the funeral. When we arrived at the funeral, I went up and started studying our new dance in multiply. Worrying a little bit about taking a bath, my parents commanded me to take a bath there, leaving my brief on the other house I texted auntie Berna to buy me one. Few minutes passed, at last uncle Berna and her company came, and shockingly, uncle Butch and uncle Alex (both are daddy's small group member) and their families, uncle Jeff and his wife came. I grabbed my brief, took my clothes and immediately took a bath. I brought Alyssa, Carlo and Gia at the backyard to chat, taught Alyssa and Gia to dance. When they finished eating their dinner, we went to the chatroom and play cards while joking and chatting, then they went home. The 2nd night ended same as the 1st one.
The last day opened with ate Christine entering into our scenario at home. I and my family took a bath one by one, preparing for the last funeral service. Fast forwarding, the service started at 1pm and ended at 3pm with the same program as the previous services. Then all of the people went to the cemetary to bury the corpse. After the corpse was buried, the population in the cemetary slowly shrinks leaving the Sagarbariia clan and uncle Rommel's family. The family of auntie Fran had their own agendas some took pictures, some watched the late burying process, and some chatted. Part of being humans, they decided to eat, having a dilemma in the restaurant they all ended up eating at my grandparents' mansion with Ryan's home cook pansit meal. As the darkness started to dominate the skies, I started to jam with uncle Rommel and then with the others outside. After different discussions and conversations within the family my whole story ended with my family and ate Christine's groupmates riding in the car and going back home.
Epilogue:
On the way to Manila, my family got to chat with ate Christine, and even a door opened for her life. Upon hearing some gospel songs down the road, and some talks about church and jobs, we abled to invite ate Christine into our church. I started making this blog at around 10:30 in the morning after I woke up before I prepared to go to my training and expected finishing it before 12 on the 13th day but I finished it 30 minutes late within the expected time deadline. I wanted to finish it because the freshness of the memories, feelings and thoughts will slow decrease in time.
