Truth behind Adidas

Many aspects and themes on different areas in life and concept in Christianity have been profoundly expounded and richly delivered on the first chapter of the gospel in the account of Luke. Being an intelligent and well-educated physicist, a close companion of world-renowned first evangelist both in the ancient and modern world, and a natural-born Greek, Luke highlighted one divine characteristic of the coming savior. God's omnipotence which distinguishes him from the mortal human beings or any living creation in the universe.

The obvious concept has been introduced through the first moments of interaction of heavenly bodies and earthly creatures in the history of the new covenant. Prior to the main discourse of this text, a typical mankind's response upon facing unusual phenomena or unexpected weird experience - Fear was presented. Knowledgeable with factual proofs, biological theories, and distinct homo-sapien  psyches both mental and emotional, 3 instances were recorded.

Zechariah encountered the angel with fear. Mary was greatly troubled. Shepherds were terrified. Gabriel's response to all of them: "Do not be afraid."
When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah.." - Luke 1:12-13
Mary was greatly troubled.. But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary.." - Luke 1:29-30
"..there were shepherds.. an angel of the Lord appeared to them.. they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid.." - Luke 2:8-10

With the fear or hesitancy of the unknown, the Lord assures us "Do not be afraid". Big mountains may come in our way, titanic obstacles upon the path, financial destructions, health deteriorations, relational dysfunctions, generational curses and worries about the future, but the only thing binding us intact in life is his word's of assurance: "Do not be afraid".

Similarity in the conversation of Gabriel to Zechariah and Mary supports the reality of the human tendencies to rationalize, to be practical and logical, and to depend on their own limited capabilities and intellect, focusing on the current situation of their surroundings, showing their inclination towards the default mindset of decision-making. After receiving instructions from the messenger Zechariah, in his 5'foot frame anatomy, responded "How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years?" - Luke 1:18. On the other hand Mary, remaining untouched, "How will this be.. since I am a virgin?" - Luke 1:34

Zechariah wanted to ensure the possibility of making this happen. He hopelessly tended to be captivated by his physical attributes. As an individual, our assurance all the time depends on how we understand the circumstances around us, the total opposite of faith. Mary had also the same mentality and attitude, the favor and declaration of God already revealed through her, yet she tended to look at her present factors in life. Instead of fully trusting the word and promise of God through the messenger he sent, both were overwhelmed by their doubts, and hesitancies in life.

Scientifically proven, there is 0% chance of probability that Elizabeth (Zechariah's wife), a barren old woman, and Mary, a virgin woman, could give birth. Becoming them pregnant, is truly a miracle, extraordinary, totally impossible. No matter what, there is no way they could give birth.

In the end of Gabriel's explanation, ".. for nothing is impossible with God". Only in Luke his omnipotence was revealed this way on the nativity scene. This scripture has referred as an illustration in Matthew (although God in no doubt, could really do it, but there were no any records that he let the camel go inside through the needle), and used it as a fulfilled completion  in Luke.

Everyday people face exactly the same thing. The same voice and message that they hear from God overtime, but the question is "Are we going to lean on his omnipotence, his extraordinary power of endless possibilities? Or depend on our own way of rational thinking, estimation, assurance, guess, practicality, and understanding?

Move in faith or fear? Absolute confidence in God or total reliance on our understanding?
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." - Proverbs 3:5

Where do we based our full assurance?
