Purpose
**These are some collections of thoughts and reflections in my notes during the service. Not intended for formal essays, blogs nor academic writing.
Everyone has a unique sense of calling and purpose that God intended for them. Whether in ministry or vocation, God has a special purpose in every individual. One way of knowing your purpose is asking yourself what you enjoy the most. What do you love the most?
While I was going home, my friend told me that his passion is to be a nurse here in Canada. He even mentioned that he likes doing it. He enjoys it. I can't imagine myself being a nurse for a single day dealing with different types of patients. I might be possibly seeing blood. I cannot do it, but he can. It is the beauty of how God made each human different.
Some people wait for the provision to follow their calling. The truth of the matter is that the provision and blessing come naturally from your purpose, and not the other way around.1 Once you obeyed God's call and be sensitive to his leading he will provide you more than you can ever imagine in your path because it is about his plan, not yours.
"Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails." - Prov. 19:21
People ought not to be hindered by their preconceived limitations on reaching their purpose. Such as but are not limited to finances, skill, experience, age, etc. We are called to press on toward the goal that God has in store for us in Christ Jesus.2
Some think to shift academic program because it has a cheaper tuition fee rather than pursuing his passion. If they do, they might not be moving in faith but instead being controlled by fear. Fear that he might be lacking when the time comes. He might not have received the perfect love, "because perfect love drives out fear"3. Are you moving in faith or in fear?
Secondly, he worries.
"Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them". - Matthew 6:26
Some choose careers mainly because it is high-paying though it is not totally bad to aim for that vision but ensure that it is what you really want to do in life. Remove all the external factors pressuring you to a certain kind of career. Remember, passion and what you enjoy the most. I think all jobs would all be possibly high-paying but not all make you joyful.
I believe, once you discover your purpose and follow God's call upon your life everything else will follow. "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." - Matthew 6:33
