Heir

**These are some collections of thoughts and reflections in my notes during the service. Not intended for formal essays, blogs nor academic writing.

Imagine if you are living in the time of Abraham. How about if you are one of the sons of Abraham? It would be amazing for you to be one of the heirs of all his wealth. Being an heir of Abraham not only pertains to material wealth but also spiritual wealth.

What if I tell you that you can become one of his heirs?

Everything that God blessed Abraham is also available to us through Christ. God poured out his blessings to Abraham which is enumerated in Deuteronomy 28:1-14. Although we may not be biologically connected to Abraham we are connected to him with the spirit of God through Jesus Christ.

If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. - Galatians 3:29

There is a prerequisite to this verse, the word "IF". In order for us to be part of Abraham's family and the promise that had been given to him ages ago, we had to belong to Christ. The sense of belongingness and being part of Christ's family is not performance-based rather it is an extremely extraordinary radical demonstration of God's love for mankind through offering the ultimate sacrifice once and for all through his only begotten son, Jesus Christ.

We became part of his family not because of what we did but of what he did on the cross. After believing in him and letting him be the Lord of our lives then we become part of his family.
