Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— Psalm 103:2
As human beings, we tend to forget sometimes. Perhaps that's the reason why throughout history, people tried to help their forgetfulness through making notes or buying calendars to remind themselves of the essential things in their day-to-day lives.
In the last century, upon the rise of the fridges, people invented magnetic whiteboards to be placed in their kitchen and write their assignments or reminders. We maximized the capabilities of smartphones through the creation of apps that increase productivity through reminders or calendars. People like to download new apps that would simplify their lives.
This Psalm begins through praising the Lord, lifting his name on high, and glorifying him above everything else in one's life. Once we come into submission and surrender to his sovereignty, we need to remind ourselves of all his benefits. The Psalmist didn't single out any specific sphere in life. Whether physical, spiritual, financial, relational realm. Benefits are in plural form. God's blessing is not limited only to one area in life. He blesses us in every area of our lives.
How do we view his benefits in our mundane life? Do we see his hand working in our weekly routine? Are there any doubts or worries we have for the upcoming months or even the rest of the year ahead?
1. Praise him.
2. Forget not all his benefits.
Seal these truths in your life.
