Genocide

People are excited every Christmas or (Holiday) season. It is the time of the year when people go to the malls to buy gifts for their loved ones. I like parties, gift-giving, and just being with the companion of old and new friends. Every person has their own reason to be excited about the season. The reason for excitement, at least in my opinion, recorded in the bible is written in Matthew 2.

The wise men genuinely seek Jesus, but King Herod doesn't. King Herod's intention is superficial and deceptive.1 "Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found him, bring me word, that I too may come and worship him." - Matthew 2:82

Among all the reasons, motivations, and intentions of celebration. Let us remember and imitate the wise men to worship Jesus. One of the ways of worshipping Jesus is giving him our best, the wise men exemplified that through giving their best gifts. On the other hand, King Herod initiated a genocide against all the babies which really proves that he had evil plans. This is scary.

Worshipping Jesus is not limited to December 25, but we can do this every day of the entire year. If this is the focal point of Christmas, we can and ought to celebrate Christmas every day.1 What are the other ways we can worship Jesus? What are the ways we can give our best to him every day? Perhaps, our time, our strength, our money, our talents.
