How do we know if we are obeying outwardly and not inwardly?

Image
I find it easy to show good works, especially to the people in my community of faith. Everything that they see in me volunteering and helping on Sundays and some Saturday events are insufficient to truly gauge if I'm obeying God inwardly all throughout the week. Only God knows what I'm doing 24/7 and the intention inside why I'm doing it. My parents, leaders, or even pastors can't fully know it. "God is looking for inward obedience first more than outward obedience". 1      Every time I'm going to help someone or serve in the ministry I need to evaluate the status of my heart. For "the heart is deceitful above all things". 2 I don't have the exact metrics if the person is obeying inwardly but what I have are some questions to consider if we are obeying just outwardly and neglecting the crucial part. 1. Do we just obey to show off? Whether there's a recognition or not you know that God is your audience and not the people. "... d...

Maximizing God's gift to the mothers

The Backstreet boys' song "God, Your Mama, and Me" made me thinking why "mama". Also, what's the meaning of the song. Part of the chorus says, "No one's ever gonna love you more than God, your mama, and me.." 1 It is implied in the song that the only people who could love you the most is God, and your mother. The singer included himself on that the degree of his love into God's and unto the mother.     Mothers care, and know what's the best for us. They are the ones who nurtured us growing up.  Isaiah 49:15:   "Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?" 2 The bible mentions about the imagery of the mother nursing her child. She never forgets the necessary factors in the life of her child.     They are our primary teachers and educators. They are fully aware if something's not right on their sons or daughters. They sense it through their invisible antennas. 3 Antennas that...

Sometimes people don't get satisfied anything in life. "The reason why [they] don't get satisfied is ...because [they] did [something] to become better than others, because [their] goal is to become better than others..." 1      Comparing oneself to others is not the Christian reality towards the community Paul wants to educate the people of Philippi. Philippians 2:3's rendition from various translations pertains to the instruction or the command for the person to be humble. "... Rather, in humility value others above yourselves" 2  (NIV). - value "... Be humble, thinking others as better than yourselves" 2  (NLT). - thinking "... but in humility count others..." 2  (ESV). - count "... but with humility consider one another..." 2  (NASB). - consider      These words are from the Greek word "ἡγούμενοι" which literally means "to govern" 3 and it is also a participle. The four examples above are usuall...

3 takeaways to multiverse ideology

**Spoiler alert: Doctor Strange 2: Multiverse of Madness!!!      The idea of an alternate version of reality first appeared in my life watching "Back to the future". There was a scene where Marty had to play the guitar to create a romantic scene involving his parents in the past.      He slowly disappeared whenever his parents moved away from each other. It portrays that any action that occurred in the present would affect the future. But how about an alternate version of reality simultaneously occurring all at the same time. It is just on a different realm, dimension, or producer.       At the start of the 21st century, there were three Spiderman movies on the big screen. Recently all of them appeared in just one film. Thus, the multiverse became the spotlight around the globe. More characters. More action. It is a party. For instance, this is one indication of a party. I watched Doctor Strange 2. Here are my thoughts. Existence o...

**Architecture, see footnote 3      Asking the question regularly, "What is God's will over my life"? seems an understatement. Our priority must be Subservient to God's will. I heard the word "subservient" repeatedly over the course of the sermon. Given the message and context of what the preacher tackled, I knew the meaning pertains to "being under God's sovereignty thus his purposes and will for every one of us". When he was saying that "our focus must be subservient to God's will", I analyzed that our focus should be under the umbrella of God's will or subordinate to his will. It matches what the Oxford dictionary's secondary definition depicts.      The primary one states, "prepared to obey others unquestioningly." 1 The word "obey" struck me. Initially "subservient" for me only refers to God's sovereignty. The word "obey" gives a sense of initiative and pro-activeness of th...
