Appreciating God

While running I asked my brother (my officemate named Ali), "In your language, how do you say 'God is great? Or you just want to praise God and express your worship to him because he is just simply great?" He responded, "Allah akbar". He then continued, "It means - 'God is big and he sees everything'"

Later on, I asked, "How do you say that you just appreciate God and want to thank him for everything, for the creation, and your life"? He answered, "Alhamdulillah". He added, "It means - 'I appreciate God'".

After running we had a short discussion about faith, Christianity, and the Trinity. The discourse went well and he seemed sincere to know more about the relationship between God and Jesus. He even asked why Jesus is the only one qualified to save mankind and wash all the sins away but he is just human.

God's love for us is exemplified through his unconditional love through his only begotten son. What happened in the past is still in effect even in the present and future times. The love of God is perfect and absolute. Whenever a person sins it doesn't diminish the love of God for that person.1

"neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:39

This must be a radical love that only a divine being can produce and freely give.
