Ultimate marriage advice coming from a single* man

*There hasn't been any mention of apostle Paul having a wife in the scriptures. During or even after the time of his writing cannot be proven that he was single the whole time. Each letter he wrote had different intentions. Excluding anything about his personal life is still a possibility.

There are no explicit references regarding dating, romance, relationships, or courtship in the scriptures. Most, if not all the Christian books that talk about the subject are the contemporary application using a systematic approach and exegetical interpretation of the text such as but not limited to: Samson and Delilah, Jacob and Leah, Ruth and Boaz. But there are passages that refer to a model of what God wants in marriage. With the presumption that both sides believe in marriage. In a special kind of relationship without any goals for marriage, a distorted view of love is possible, worst open for destruction. For God is the author of love, the creator of love, he is LOVE.

Without a biblical view of marriage, relationships would be doomed to fail. That's why entertaining the idea of divorce is not uncommon in our society and culture today.

"As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything. For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her."1

- Ephesians 5:24-25

Wives are called to submit. It involves the entirety of her life. It says "in everything". Single ladies, you are bought at a price. You are the daughter of the Highest. You are princesses. Wait. Seek God. Pray. Fast. Be wise. Abide in his word. Listen to His voice. In the future when you get married, the intensity of how you submit to your husband is "as the church submits to Christ".

Husbands are called to give up their life. It costs the entirety of his life. Men ought to be willing to die for her. To take a bullet for her without any hesitation. Single ladies, if the person who's pursuing you, doesn't have that wholehearted single-minded decision to love you up to that extreme level, Dump him! Men ought to do whatever it takes to save her "... as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her". Wow! That's hard. Yes, but there's a mystery behind why it is feasible.

"Outside of this world, they didn't know, they didn't discover that only in unity in Christ that you will be devoted to your wife... - that's the mystery".2

Divorce is optional for those who don't take heed of these words from Paul, anointed by the Holy Spirit.
