Captivated

The theme for this year's fasting is "Miracles" in our church globally, in Every Nation. Upon hearing it for the first time, it gives me the excitement of God fulfilling my wants and needs for the year 2023. He works Miracles and Wonders in the past and he is able and willing to perform exactly the same thing today.

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."1 - Hebrews 13:8

Not until I saw the phrase "Let him be Known" triggers a shift in perspective. Instead of looking at what can do for myself or how can I benefit God, it becomes a purpose-driven view of why there is a miracle, and what or who it points out. It points to the name that is above every name, Jesus Christ. "Jesus Christ is the ever-present miracle worker in your life."2 The reason why Miracles happen is for the people to have the saving knowledge of what Jesus did on the cross for mankind. It is the revelation of the power of God of the supernatural in what the people perceived as the "material" realm of this world.

Miracles are not primarily focused on the event or the supernatural thing that happened but it is the existence of who God is over the force of nature that he controls everything thus our entire life and trust are only for who he is and what he proclaims. If someone powerful performs extraordinary things in your sight, he can capture your loyalty and faithfulness toward his greatness.
