Book Review: The Beauty of Intolerance

This entry is a tribute to Joanna Marie who gave me the book.
The book starts with a hypothetical scenario that seems to recreate the situations in our society today. As the book progresses the different aspects of the scenario shed light for the viewer to think about and to consider. There's also a facet of dealing with homosexuals in our society. Two major concerns in society are given emphasis: the tryst between lovers, and the prevalence of homosexuals.

The thrust of the book is how to navigate the increasing tension of these realities in Christendom in today's era. The strength is that it is relatable, especially to the people in North America. Parents could also learn some insights into how the stories were dealt with. The book offers some insights on a practical level. Another strength is that it inspires and encourages especially young adults and singles in general to stay true to their convictions and continue to follow Jesus no matter what society tells them. The weakness is that it might appear shallow to some readers who are more academically inclined on reading books. Some stances on the book might appear questionable or debatable depending on how conservative the readers are on one's faith.
Overall, I'd definitely suggest that parents and young adults read it. There is a strong sense of conviction in the book that a majority of Christians need to know. This book is not the type of scholastic reading for some. Professors or seminary students might be able to read it for them to practice their critical thinking. But it is not something where you could defend a thesis or argument. It might show a weakness in your paper. It is not highly academic in tone but offers some practical advice for today's society. I could rate it around 7.4 out of 10 because it talks about one of the latest issues of today's trend and also it is easy to read.
