Steadfast

When a leader has his eyes fixed on the goal people start to follow him. The leader is focused on the guidance and direction that he receives from God after careful discernment and prayer. Anything that hinders the calling or anything that does not contribute to that vision should be eliminated. No room for pleasing people. "with my eyes fixed on the goal I push on to secure the prize of God's heavenward call in Christ Jesus."1 - Philippians 3:14. If the person is concerned about how the people react to his particular decision, it may be a sign that he is pleasing men rather than God.

As the person grows older in life he is vulnerable to criticism. If he changes, he is criticized. If he does not change, he is still criticized. Criticism is either positive or negative. It is in a different category. The main factor is how a person responds to criticism. If the criticism is an accurate description of reality, the challenge is for the person to accept it and change himself for the betterment of his way of life. If the criticism has some gaps and the hearer analyzed hints of impurity, it is still a benefit. The person who received the criticism is able to know how reliable the person who gave the critic.
If the person continues to honour God and focus on the calling that he has received. He would not be afraid of receiving criticism and not be pressured to act based on that. He is led by what the Spirit chooses for him to walk. If the person is totally submerged in the Spirit's presence.
